He heard the party exploring his floor and came to meet them in a room they had already passed through several times.

The contract

Bluto could open the route to Level 3 without requiring the party to clear the last seal. His price: a promise to leave the planar anchor undamaged.

Three seals were already cleared. Destroying the anchor was the expedition's purpose. Krunk threw the unsigned contract back into his face.

The fight

Three opening crossbow shots badly hurt the flesh golem and Krunk. His guards made a head-on fight a dangerous proposition.

Krunk used the Thunderous Greatclub to knock the troops down and open a 30-foot fissure beneath the warden. Bluto climbed out while the party fought his men.

Arthas covered Krunk against Bluto's next attack. Krunk kicked the warden back into the pit, and the party threw explosive thunder roots down after him.

What he left behind

Bluto is dead and his guards are defeated. The contract was not signed. In Session 11, the party found his note in Hessa Ninefold's workshop. Bluto planned to use them to remove the False Ember, then seize the anchor's power for himself. The party later cleared the gold seal and destroyed that anchor.
