Abandoned

A town northwest of Phandalin, emptied after a dragon and a pack of undead moved in.

Daran Edermath told the party about it. He'd have gone himself, but his adventuring days are behind him.

What was there

• A horde of undead, which Niko Turned and sent running
• Red, a druid who wanted balance restored
• The Dendrar apothecary, abandoned, holding a protective amulet
• A house of dragon cultists, about to make an offering
• Venomfang in the tower at the end of town

What happened

The party recovered the amulet, infiltrated the cult with Fenro's illusion magic, followed them to the tower, and watched the dragon melt every cultist with a single breath.

Then they came out of the shadows and killed it while its breath was spent.

What came out of the hoard

Hew — the axe that deals maximum damage to plant creatures.

Krunk has carried it ever since. It has since ended a shambling mound with Gerald unconscious on the floor.
