A valley town built directly over a geothermal spring, in the shadow of a mountain that everyone politely calls "the peak" rather than "the volcano."

Town Warmth

Emberdale runs on a shared heat supply drawn from the Hearthspring. The Regulator meters it out to the districts. When warmth drops, things start closing — and people start deciding who deserves heat more.

[Banked]{.pill .warm}	Normal. Everything open.
[Guttering]{.pill .warm}	Outer districts go cold at night.
[Cold]{.pill .dead}	Only the Warm Hall is habitable.
