Urmon's Temple¶
The hub
A pearly white temple that appeared at the edge of Phandalin when the fog cleared, with an old man at a desk inside.
"Do you have any idea what you did?!"
Who's inside¶
Urmon the Architect, builder of the Forge of Spells, imprisoned here by Diamabel as punishment for hubris.
He has been here a very long time.
The mirrors¶
Three swirling mirrors stand in the temple. Each is a portal into a pocket dimension. Each dimension holds a planar anchor, guarded by some strong force.
| Mirror | Leads to | Status |
|---|---|---|
| First | Bellhollow | Anchor destroyed |
| Second | Emberdale | Entered |
| Third | Fetchford | Open, unvisited |
Urmon found them over the course of his imprisonment. Destroying all three anchors is, as far as anyone knows, the only way to stop Diamabel reaching Faerûn.
The second visit¶
The party came back through the Bellhollow portal after months away, and Urmon had news: two more portals had opened while they were gone.
The first mirror had shown only Bellhollow when they left. Now Emberdale and Fetchford were both visible, and both passable.
They recognized Emberdale and Fetchford from the tablets recovered in the Surveyor's Sepulcher, and after some debate went into Emberdale.
Worth remembering¶
Everything the party knows about the plan comes from a man who is imprisoned here and wants out, and who has not said what he expects in return.
He also hasn't explained why the second and third mirrors only opened after the first anchor fell.
