Fetchford

Current arc · Third realm behind the mirrors

An idyllic farming town celebrating a festival beneath an ominous castle. The party arrived in Session 11, after freeing Emberdale.

The changed mirror

A tablet from the Surveyor's Sepulcher named Fetchford before the party entered it. Its portal opened in Urmon's Temple after Bellhollow's anchor fell.

When the party returned from Emberdale, a castle had appeared on the hill behind the town in the mirror. Urmon drew their attention to the change.

The festival

  • Stone pull: Tasmin defeated Krunk. His consolation prize was magical potatoes.
  • Archery: Fenro defeated the competition, including Gerald, and won 500 gp.
  • Sheepdog race: number five overtook number two; the party finished a few hundred gold ahead.
  • Ale drinking: Krunk fell in the first round; Arthas won.

The auction

Arthas distracted a guard while Fenro supplied an illusion. They stole a tub of churning, an immovable rod, sending stones, three goat statuettes, and an ancient-script folio from the back room.

Niko deciphered the folio's reference to five travellers from Emberdale. Someone was tracking them.

Lone Vell, dressed in white, outbid the party for a sack of beans at 3,000 gp. They later won a belt advertised as granting the pulling strength of two oxen for 5,250 gp.

The planted evidence

When the auction offered 3,000 gp for information about its stolen goods, Fenro planted the tub in a resident's empty home and informed a guard. He received the reward. Lone Vell witnessed the framing.

The resident's eventual fate is unresolved.

The household's invitation

Lone handed Fenro a letter from Diamabel's household and rode toward the castle.

The invitation directs the party along the north road to the woodland inn, then onto the house road and through the estate's western entrance. It promises answers about the realm's boundaries and access to public records. No surrender of arms or property is requested.
