The Magma Octopus

Freed · One of the volcano's lungs

Met	Session 10
Formerly held in	The menagerie
Last seen	Swimming away in the prayer river
Spoke with	Gerald, using a potion of animal speaking

The party found it confined alongside scorpions, manticores, and a fire-lobster creature. Gerald chose to ask questions.

What it knew

The creatures were filtering harmful energy from the volcano's operation, growing weaker as they did so. They were the mountain's lungs.

The octopus also knew that the safe's gold rested on a trap plate. Removing it would open the enclosures. A hidden lever could disable the trap.

The exchange

The party freed the octopus into the central river in return for its help. It swam away, and the green seal cleared.

The other menagerie creatures have not been recorded as freed.
